An exciting challenge to join this Global Enterprise Cloud provider and be at the forefront of the migrations to the cloud, successfully moving some of the largest applications and databases to private and public cloud platforms.

We are seeking an expert Oracle Exadata Database Administrator, with a strong database consulting background with production support experience.

The ideal DBA will bring both technical expertise & hands-on understanding of business process and operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on experience working on Oracle Exadata Database migrations and managed services to ensure the delivery of enterprise database architecture projects such as database infrastructure design, builds, upgrades, migrations, support, and performance tuning.
  • You will lead database migration (including Cross Platform Migrations), tuning, operationalization, and support efforts for Oracle RDBMS 12c, RAC & Data Guard enterprise environments including:
  • Design and build, upgrade, migrations etc so good Oracle all round migrations skills with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle database including, RAC and Data Guard Design and implement data replication strategies using replication technologies such as Active Data Guard and GoldenGate.
  • Perform database maintenance and Optimizations tasks such as index usage analysis, index management, statistics, partition management, data compression, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems and providing managed service support.
  • Performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools for Oracle Design and implement processes for database backups, restores and recovery models Design and implement database security solutions.
  • Oracle database security options Database architecture design, including optimal server and storage design.
  • Design and implement automation solutions for routine tasks, system reporting, alerts, and notifications using OEM 12c and custom scripts.

Ideal Profile and Experience:

  • 8+ plus years of Oracle DBA experience.
  • 4+ years of Oracle Exadata experience.
  • Strong understanding of database structure, theories, principles and practices Oracle.

The below is a “Wish List” so a mix and match would be great to discuss further:

  • Oracle Engineered Systems administration experience, including Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), ZFS Storage Appliance (ZS), etc. is preferred.
  • Previous consulting experience would be a bonus.
  • Additionally, fulfilling requests, resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g. database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis, to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLA.
  • Deliver enterprise-class database solutions including Database 19c,12c, RAC, Data Guard, cross platform migrations.
  • Knowledge of other databases including MS SQL, Postgres, MongoDB, MySQL and any automation would be useful as Clients’ projects are varied and complex.
  • Third-party tools Learn and support Oracle private cloud for database environments including database container (CDB) and pluggable (PDB) database administration, snapshot and clone management, multi-tenant architecture design, etc.
  • Provide production support ownership, tracking, and resolving database related tasks.
  • Strong Performance tuning and optimization skills, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools for RDBMS Design and implement processes for database backups, restores and recovery models Design and implement database security solutions.
  • Perform database maintenance and Optimizations tasks such as index usage analysis, index management, statistics, partition management, data compression, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Database security options Database recovery design and implement.
  • BS degree in Computing or other related field, or equivalent experience.
